FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) — A northeastern Indiana coroner has ruled as a homicide the death of a 78-year-old woman whose body was found in her mobile home.

Diane Woods’ son found her body Friday in her home at the Valley Hills Mobile Home Park in northwest Fort Wayne after she failed to answer her sister’s daily phone call.

The Journal Gazette reports that the Allen County coroner’s office says Wood died of blunt force trauma to the head.

Fort Wayne Police Department spokesman Officer Chris Felton says the department’s detective bureau had no new information to release on Woods’ death. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
