INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis man was sentenced to 65 years in prison for murder.

Harold Bishop was sentenced Tuesday after a jury convicted him of murder last week.

Bishop killed Khalfani Shabazz in a money dispute in 2012. Prosecutors believe after the murder Bishop went on a crime spree. He allegedly shot a man in some apartments, and then he shot a mother and son while their house was burning to the ground. He is then accused of holding a man at gunpoint outside a Walmart in Columbus. All of these subsequent crimes happened in a matter of days after the deadly shooting.

Deputies in Boone County arrested Bishop after finding him hiding in a wooded area 10 days after the crimes. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
