INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Dozens of people paused for a moment of silence in Monument Circle on Thursday night following the deadly shooting of an unarmed teenager in Missouri.

The silent protest was one of several held across the country after Michael Brown was shot and killed by a Ferguson, Missouri police officer on Sunday.

The “National Moment of Silence” vigils were planned for 50 cities in 30 different states.

In addition to the vigil on the circle, a similar event was scheduled for City Hall in Bloomington Thursday night. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
