INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – According to a report, an Indianapolis man was dragged by a car Wednesday.

Police say, gas station attendant, Shakib Daqqaq, 54, was taking pictures of a small fender bender in the parking lot of a Shell Gas Station in the 7200 block of North Michigan Road.

During the picture taking, the suspect grabbed Daqqaq’s phone.  That’s when a small tug-of-war broke out between Daqqaq and the suspect. Suddenly, the suspect put his car in drive, dragging Daqqaq a few feet.  The suspect then fled the scene.

Crews rushed Daqqaq to the hospital where he was treated for gashes, deep bruises and soreness.

Police are still looking for the suspect.

Shortly after Daqqaq’s release from the hospital, he sat down with 24-Hour News 8 to discuss his injures. Daqqaq adds that police are following up on leads that could lead to the arrest of the suspect. As for now Daqqaq is grateful he is alive.

‘I’m not worried, I thank God I’m still laughing and smiling,” said Daqqaq. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
