Kate Chargualaf from McCordsville, the Red Gold Summer Grillin’ Burger Contest Grand Prize winner shares her winning Burger recipe from the Red Gold Culinary Corner Stage at the Indiana State Fair.
Red Gold offered Indy Style watchers the chance to win a Big Egg Grill by asking them to submit their Tomato Burger recipes. We received over 45 entries and have selected 3 finalists with unique recipes to share their recipes with everyone. And one, the grand prize winner, will take home a Large Green Egg grill for the best year round cooking experience.
Ingredients2 lbs ground Beef
1/2 can Red Gold canned tomatoes (drained, diced, and moisture dried – let sit on paper towel if needed)
1/2 yellow bell pepper (diced),
1 tsp pepper,
1 tsp of Italian seasoning,
1 tsp salt,
2 garlic gloves minced,
3 tsp of Worcestershire sauce.Burger Spread1/2 can of Red Gold canned tomatoes (use remaining from burgers), half of yellow bell pepper (use remaining from burgers), 4 tablespoons of Sweet Baby Rays Barbecue Sauce and 2 tablespoons of Scotty’s Brewhouse MoFo Mustard. Pulsate in a blender or food processor or use a hand mixer.BurgersMix all burger recipe ingredients together, minus the Red Gold canned tomatoes. Once burger mixture is mixed, then add in the canned tomatoes. Form hamburger patties, then cook according to preference to get a rare, medium or well done burger.While grilling burgers make the burger spread.Top cooked burgers with burger spread and VOILA! A burger that includes a healthy serving of veggies too!
