COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — Crisis negotiators spent hours in a Columbus neighborhood Wednesday after a woman stabbed a car and threatened people, Columbus Police Department officials said.

The incident began around 6:10 p.m. in the 3400 block of Brent Cross, which is near North Marr and Rocky Ford roads. In addition to threatening others, police officials said the woman was making statements about hurting herself.

The incident prompted the evacuation of some nearby homes while crisis negotiators spoke to the woman.

Just after midnight, police were able to get the woman out of a home and take her in for a mental health evaluation.
