GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — Local and federal agents on Thursday arrested a convicted murderer in Indianapolis after a months-long investigation into the distribution of methamphetamines.

Greensburg police and authorities with the Drug Enforcement Agency arrested three people, including 48-year-old Bernabe Castillo-Moreno, of Indianapolis, who police said is in the country illegally and previously was convicted of murder in Texas, 24-Hour News 8’s news partners at The Greensburg Daily News report.

Police in Greensburg say back in May, they received information about a drug dealing operation and that Castillo-Moreno was the primary supplier. Police say after learning about his murder conviction and immigration status, they obtained a search warrant for his Indianapolis home.

Police did not name the other two individuals who were arrested but did say one suspect has direct ties to a Mexican drug-trafficking organization.

Castillo-Moreno was taken to the Decatur County Jail and preliminarily charged with two counts of conspiracy to deal methamphetamine, a Class A felony and a Class 2 felony.
