INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Fire investigators in Wayne Township are looking into what caused a fire early Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to a home in the 1000 block of South Roena Street, just south of Washington Street, around 5 a.m. after a neighbor reported seeing fire.

Crews were able to bring the flames under control in about 10 minutes. No one was home at the time.

Firefighters say the structure suffered heavy smoke and fire damage, totaling about $25,000.

Investigators say the fire is suspicious but that they’re looking into the cause. Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behavior around the home is asked to call the Wayne Township Fire Department at 247-8501.
