SHELBY COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police said an elderly woman was killed Friday night after she was pinned between a truck and a horse trailer at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino.

According to the Shelbyville Police Department, the woman and her husband were trying to hook their horse trailer onto their truck at the casino’s horse barns around 6:30 p.m.

Police said the victim’s husband was backing the truck into position and at some point, his wife became pinned between the truck and the trailer.  Officials said they do not yet know how exactly this happened.

As of Friday night, police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the accident. The victim’s husband will have blood tests done, which is standard with any fatal accident.

Police have not yet released the names of the victim or her husband pending family notification.

The Shelbyville FACT Team was called to the scene to investigate the incident.
