MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – A Muncie packing company says it’s laying off about half of its workforce.

DIY Group notified the state on Thursday that it plans to cut 261 employees after the company lost an important contract.

The company packages products for national manufacturers.

DIY Group officials said the layoffs will begin in October and last until next April.
