Police: Student arrested for smoking pot in parking lot

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – Police said a Columbus East High School student was arrested Friday after a school resource officer saw the student smoking what appeared to be marijuana in a car.

According to 24-Hour News 8’s partners, The Columbus Republic, the officer was patrolling the Columbus East High School parking lot around 9:20 a.m. when she saw the 17-year-old smoking.

After the student was arrested, officers searched the vehicle and found alcohol, narcotics, a switchblade knife and pellet guns.
