Medical helicopter called to Hamilton County crash

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A medical helicopter was called to a crash in Hamilton County Saturday night.

It happened shortly after 8 p.m. at South Hamilton Avenue and State Road 47. Police dispatchers say a car hit a telephone pole.

A medical helicopter was requested for a child that was injured in the crash. Police say the child was alert and oriented at the scene.

Dispatchers say there was possibly one more person hurt. State Road 47 was shut down so emergency personnel could respond. There was no timeline for when lanes would reopen.
