INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Wayne Township Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire just after 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of South Fleming Street.

Firefighters worked to put out large flames for about an hour. The home is vacant, and no one was hurt.

Investigators were called to the scene because this is the second fire in two nights in this neighborhood. The first fire was on South Roena Street on Friday night at about the same time. That is just two blocks away.

Investigators say the fire is suspicious. The cause of the fire was still under investigation early Saturday morning.

Wayne Township was assisted by Indianapolis Fire Department, Speedway Fire Department and Decatur Fire Department.

An estimate of the cost of damage was not immediately known, but the home is a total loss.

Anyone with any information about the two fires should call the Indiana Arson Hotline at 1800-382-4528.
