INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A pre-K pilot program will get the funding it needs to add over 700 new pre-K openings for kids in Indianapolis.

The Council approved funds that will be granted by the United Way to qualified providers with early childhood services in Marion County. The State of Indiana’s Early Education Grant program will match the funds at 50-percent.

Council Vice President John Barth stated in a release that it is important to provide quality pre-K programs to provide at-risk students a head start for success in grade school.
