State troopers get first patrol cars

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Monday was a big day for nearly 50 new Indiana State troopers as they got their first patrol cars.

The troopers are part of the 73rd Recruit Academy. They will now begin patrolling in assigned districts on their own.

The 46 probationary troopers got their vehicles after six months of academy training and three months of field training. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
