INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Over the weekend, 24-Hour News 8′s Jeff Wagner took the Ice Bucket Challenge.
He then challenged a family member and a couple friends in what has become a nationwide campaign for a good cause.
The CEO of the ALS Association says she is stunned by the outpouring of support for the non-profit. She says the Ice Bucket Challenge phenomenon is changing the way charities look at fundraising.
So far, the group says more than $13 million has been pledged to fight what’s commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. That’s thanks to the Ice Bucket Challenge. It’s almost eight times what the group says it had received by this time last year.
