LPD: One arrested for murder in death investigation

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The Lafayette Police Department said they have arrested one in connection to Wednesday morning’s suspicious death investigation.

James Bixler, 25, of Lafayette, has been arrested for murder, according to Lafayette police. Bixler was transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.

No information on the victim is being released at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning and positive identification will be given by Coroner Donna Avolt.

The case is still under investigation and police are still looking for those who were at the residence Tuesday night and continuing to interview those involved. Officers said this was not a “random act.”
