GREENSBURG, Ind. (WISH) – Police said a Waldron man was airlifted after he lost control of his motorcycle on a rural road and crashed in a bean field.

According to 24-Hour News 8’s partners, Greensburg Daily News, Raymie Davis, 52, was driving southbound on CR 700 West, just north of CR 400 North shortly before 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, when he lost control of his motorcycle. Police said Davis skidded approximately 100 feet and crashed into a field.

Davis suffered head injuries in the accident and was flown to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was not wearing a helmet.

Crash investigators believe Davis lost control on a curve, possibly due to unfamiliarity with the road, and attempted to stop prior to leaving the roadway.

A spokesperson with Methodist Hospital said she could not provide information on Davis’ condition as of Wednesday afternoon.
