INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis International Airport officials said a plane was forced to land at the airport Thursday night after crews reported smoke in the cockpit of an United Airlines jet.
According to a spokesman for the airport, the regional jet, which had 48 people on board, landed safely around 7:40 p.m.
The crew requested passengers to exit the aircraft right after landing. Buses then took the passengers to the terminal.
Airport officials said the jet correlates with a flight heading from Columbus, Ohio to Chicago, but they didn’t have direct confirmation from the tower as of Thursday night.
