GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A Madison County Sheriff’s deputy was not hurt when his vehicle flipped on Interstate 69 in Grant County Friday morning.

The crash happened on I-69 northbound, just south of the 264 exit, which is State Road 18.

Police said Captain Robert Oleksy 45, an 18-year veteran of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, was headed to training when the accident happened.

Oleksy was traveling north on I-69 at the 263 mile maker when his car hit some high water that was across the interstate. His vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail end before rolling over on its top in the median.

Police said Oleksy was able to exit the truck and call 911 to report the accident. He suffered minor injuries.
