State police respond to school bus crash on NE side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana State Police said Friday afternoon they were responding to a crash involving a school bus on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

INDOT reports the center lane of eastbound Interstate 465 was closed near Interstate 69 around 3:20 p.m. because of the crash. This is near mile 36.5.

State police dispatchers say there were children on board the bus at the time of the crash but no one on board was hurt. The driver of another vehicle suffered a minor injury, police say.

The bus is from Goshen, Indiana. Police say parents of the children on the bus have been notified by Goshen Schools.

Crews were able to move the bus off the side of the road. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
