INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Saturday was move-in day for students at Butler University.
The school is welcoming 974 freshmen this year which means Butler will have it’s highest-ever undergraduate enrollment.
The competition was tough. President Jim Danco says they had 10,000 applications this year — that means for every 10 who applied, one was accepted.
Lisa Duco spent the morning moving her daughter in. She said she’d say goodbye with mixed emotions.
“She’s a good person and has a good head on her shoulders so I feel comfortable with that,” Duco said. “It’s just, we’re going to be three hours away so that’s just a little hard.”
Butler says this year, 55-percent of students are from out of state.
