INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police in Indianapolis say a vehicle pursuit ended on the city’s northwest side after the suspect’s vehicle hit two police cars and then hit a fence near the airport.

Officers say they started following a minivan Saturday afternoon because of its suspicious driving. Once officers got behind the vehicle it took off.

The pursuit, police say, never reached high speeds but did last for several minutes. During the chase, the suspect hit two police cars. Those officers were not hurt.

Officers tried twice to make a pit maneuver on the minivan before the chase ended. The minivan crashed into a fence at the Eagle Creek Airport, causing a significant amount of damage.

Police took the driver into custody and learned the minivan was stolen.

Airport police are now investigating.
