Two hospitalized following crash on city’s northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to Binford Boulevard and East 62nd Street for a crash at 2:27 a.m.

IMPD said a black car was driving northbound in the southbound lane about a half mile south of 62nd Street, when it collided with a red car head on.

The driver of the black car was transported to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition. IMPD believes the driver of the black was under the influence of alcohol.

The driver of the red car was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition.

Southbound and northbound Binford Boulevard were closed while the fatal alcohol team investigated the crash.
