Fire spreads to several semis at Stoops Freightliner

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a business on the city’s southwest side.

The fire started just after 2 a.m. on Sunday at a business called “Stoops Freightliner” near Harding Street and Thompson Road.

Officials say they found four semi tractors on fire in the back lot. No one was hurt and no buildings were damaged.

Officials say a small amount of diesel fuel spilled and went into drains. A hazardous materials team was sent to the scene to clean up the fuel.

Damage was estimated at $450,000. The four trucks are a total loss.

Indianapolis Fire Department will investigate the cause.
