BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — Ongoing renovations at Assembly Hall will force commencement for Indiana University to move this spring.

Graduates earning associate’s and bachelor’s degrees on May 9 will receive their diplomas at Memorial Stadium. The ceremony for graduate students on May 8 will be at Mellencamp Pavilion.

Winter commencement will not be affected by the renovations.

It’s the first time commencement ceremonies have been moved in about a dozen years.

Assembly Hall is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation after a gift from Cindy Simon Skjodt. After the project is finishing, the name of the facility will become Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
