INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – For the first time in 20 years, a brand new boys and girls club will be built in Indianapolis.

Bright and colorful shovels broke ground at the future home of the club at the corner of 38th street and Post road.

The executive director of the boys and girls club of Indianapolis says this club will be part of the solution to the crime and violence issues in our city.

The club will have homework help, graduation counseling computer lab and art lab, something that is desperately needed on the east side of the city.

The club should be finished by spring/summer of 2016 and will be named For the Finish Line. The athletic gear company donated more than a million dollars to help finance the project. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
