Smoke in cockpit prompts emergency landing at IND

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A jet needed to make an emergency landing at the Indianapolis International Airport on Wednesday.

Airport officials say the regional jet operating for United Airlines took off from Chicago and was heading to Charleston, SC.

The flight was diverted to Indianapolis after it reported smoke in the cockpit. It landed safely around 12:05 p.m. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
