BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) – Indiana University on Friday morning named the student who was found dead at a sorority house Thursday night.
IU officials said 20-year-old Kelly Ann Hackendahl, of Libertyville, Illinois, was found unresponsive after a medical call to the house around 8 p.m. Thursday.
According to Mark Land, IU spokesman, Hackendahl was found dead at the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority house,
Land said foul play is not involved. An autopsy was scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday in Terre Haute.
Hackendahl was a junior working toward her education degree and was a member of the sorority. Medics attempted to revive her for about an hour, IU officials said.
IU will provide counseling to the sorority and anyone else affected by the death.
IU’s Greek community is planning a candlelight vigil for 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. It will be at Showalter Fountain on IU’s campus. Organizers ask that people bring their own candles, if possible. Provided candles will be limited.
