Lightning strike damages Westfield home

WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — Firefighters in Westfield were called to a home early Tuesday morning to put out a fire started by a lightning strike.

It happened around 4:15 a.m. in the 16000 block of Oak Manor Drive. Crews with the Westfield Fire Department arrived and found like smoke coming from the front of the house. There was also debris scattered in the yard and street.

Firefighters found fire within the walls of the home. It took them about 30 minutes to get the flames under control.

No one was hurt, but the residents of the home were displaced. Damages have been estimated at $20,000.
