Campaign shares same-sex couples’ stories

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After last week’s same-sex marriage hearing in Chicago, a statewide organization has launched a campaign, aimed at sharing the stories of same-sex couples.

Hoosiers Unite for Marriage announced on Wednesday their “Our Marriage Matters” campaign. It tells the stories of married same-sex couples in Indiana who are waiting for the state to recognize their marriages.

The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments in Chicago last week from the state of Indiana and attorneys representing same-sex couples fighting for the right to marry in the Hoosier State.

A decision is expected in the coming weeks or months, then the case will likely head to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Couples from Bloomington, Chesterton, Columbus, Evansville, Floyds Knobs, Indianapolis and Richmond are featured in the “Our Marriage Matters Campaign.”  You can read their stories here. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
