Wednesday marks 50 years since The Beatles came to Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Wednesday is a big anniversary in the history of Indiana—specifically at the State Fairgrounds.

It’s the 50th anniversary of The Beatles playing at the Coliseum on Sept. 3, 1964.

It was the only Beatles concert held in Indiana and tickets were $3 to $5. There were 30,000 people at the two sold-out shows.

This past year has been a walk down memory lane for Beatles fans in America. February 9, 2014 marked 50 years since they performed on The Ed Sullivan Show.
