Man on bike shot, killed on city’s northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police said a man who was riding his bike was shot and killed on the city’s near northeast side Sunday night.

Police said a couple was driving in the 4300 block of E. 34th Street Sunday night when they saw the victim lying in the road with the bike on top of him.

According to police, the victim was shot in the lower abdomen. IMPD officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The police department’s homicide unit was on scene canvassing the area and talking to potential witnesses Sunday night.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity and cause and manner and death following an autopsy.

Detectives have not yet released any suspect information.
