Indy sees big drop in gas prices

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — If your gas tank is close to empty, a fill-up might not feel quite so painful Monday morning.

24-Hour News 8 did some checking and found several gas stations on the east side of Indianapolis at $3.08 a gallon, both on East Washington Street at Emerson and at State.

But according to, prices go as high as $3.45 a gallon in places like Arcadia, Cicero and some parts of Indianapolis.

The average for Indianapolis is $3.22 a gallon.

A month ago, Hoosiers were paying $3.41 a gallon and a year ago $3.46 a gallon.

The average for Indiana is $3.28 — that’s several cents lower than the national average of $3.34 a gallon.
