TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A Tippecanoe County man has been charged after one dead horse and one emaciated horse were found on his property earlier this year.

James Fitzsimons Jr. was charged with two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to an animal.

Fitzsimons told WISH-TV’s sister station, WLFI-TV, in April the horses had declining health due to financial reasons.

His initial hearing is scheduled for next Sept. 19.
