New hospital planned for Shelbyville

SHELBYVILLE, In.( WISH)– Plans are underway for a new hospital for Shelbyville.

The hospital board of trustees voted in favor of a new facility at a meeting Monday night in the southeastern Indiana city. The new hospital will be built along I-74 in Intelliplex Park and is expected to cost $89 million.

Plans include bed space for 56 patients and 38 outpatient observation beds.

Once completed, it will also house 57 different medical practices.
