INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Gov. Mike Pence will help raise money for Republican candidates looking to build on their party’s supermajority in the Indiana Senate.

Pence plans to headline a fundraiser for Chip Perfect and Jeff Raatz on Oct. 1 at Perfect’s ski slopes in Lawrenceburg.

Perfect is running for the southeastern Indiana seat being vacated by veteran Republican Sen. Johnny Nugent. Raatz is seeking to replace retiring Republican Sen. Allen Paul of Richmond.

Both districts lean heavily in favor of Republicans. Republicans currently outnumber Senate Democrats 37-13. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
