Fire destroys Clermont trucking business

CLERMONT, Ind. (WISH) – Fire crews from six area fire departments battled a blaze that destroyed a Clermont trucking business early Friday.

A Hendricks County Sheriff’s Deputy was driving by the business on US 136 when he spotted flames shooting through the roof of the business.

The business is the T. J. Leffler Trucking Company which has been family owned for 25 years at this location.

No one was inside the building at the time of the fire.  Company officials say the last employees left around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

No injuries were reported.

Due to the size of the building, fire crews requested additional water pressure from Indianapolis Water.

The original building housed offices. The outer structure had several vehicles in it.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
