INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A busy portion of the Monon Trail will close for 10 days beginning Friday for repairs, forcing runners, walkers, and cyclists to take a detour.
The closure involves a 260-foot section of the trail from 75th Street north.
It’s a popular segment that connects Broad Ripple to Nora.
“It is a drainage issue,” said Indy Parks and Rec spokesperson Lesley Gordon. “So they’re closing it down to fix the drainage issue that has caused some erosion on the trail.”
The Department of Public Works has posted the following detour;
• Left on 75th Street
• Right on Pennsylvania Street
• Right on 84th Street
• Left on Washington Boulevard
• Cross 86th Street, continue on Washington Boulevard, take left part of the “Y”.
• Right on 91st Street
• Right on Monon Trail
