DECATUR COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police said one person died and another was airlifted after a motorcycle crash at the Shelby County and Decatur County line Sunday afternoon.
According to the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 421 and CR 800 West shortly after noon on Sunday.
Investigators said the motorcyclist disregarded a flashing red light at the intersection. The motorcycle then slid on its side and hit the semi trailer’s tires.
According to 24-Hour News 8’s partners, Greensburg Daily News, the driver of the motorcycle, Kenneth R. Creech, 52, was airlifted from the scene to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He suffered internal injuries in the crash, according to police.
The passenger, Teresa Creech, 55, of Edinburgh, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi, 44-year-old Donald J. Moore, of St. Paul, was uninjured.
