Annual fundraiser tackles homelessness

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The annual fundraiser for the Horizon House was hosted this year by Colts Offensive Lineman, Joe Reitz and his wife Jill.

About a dozen other players were on hand giving autographs and helping to raise money to tackling homelessness.

Reitz said it’s an honor to serve his hometown.

“It means a lot. I’m from Indianapolis, this is my hometown and just helping people out, people in our own city, and this city has always embraced the colts and the organization and has always had our back and that’s our responsibility to do the same out in the community,” said Reitz.

So far this year, the Horizon House has helped over 2,000 homeless through its day shelter.

The organization says the city has seen a 19 percent increase in homelessness this year alone. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
