Miles for Myeloma kicks into high gear

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – in honor of the tenth annual Miles for Myeloma, patients, family, friends and other supporters will ride in 15 minute increments on stationary bikes Monday and Tuesday at IU Simon Cancer Center.

Myeloma is an incurable blood cancer, and one local doctor has been doing this benefit for 10 years.

“We have now since we started the campaign made a huge progress some because of our work and some because of other around the country we we’ve been able to uh get people to uh live longer uh live healthier,” said IU Dr. Rafat Abonour

Over the decade, Dr. Abonour has raised more than $2.5 million for Myeloma research.

On October 3, he and 28 others will cycle for three days, traveling over 300 miles.
