TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A car crashed into a Terre Haute business just after 1:30 a.m. Friday.
It happened at 3rd and Preston Streets. Witnesses at a nearby business said they saw a car heading down 3rd Street at a high rate of speed, then heard a loud bang soon after.
It is believed the car crashed into a sign, then went airborne. The car then hit two concrete dividers, coming to a stop after hitting Mike’s Market.
Soda machines in the front of the store took the brunt of the impact, and we’re told that likely saved the market from sustaining more damage.
The driver was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.
Police say the driver was not from the Wabash Valley.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor.
