Catchings plans to retire after 2016 WNBA season

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Indiana Fever player Tamika Catchings announced on Friday her plans to retire after the 2016 WNBA season.

Catchings said while she intends to step away as a player after the 2016 season, she doesn’t want to leave the game entirely.

Catchings was drafted by the Fever in 2001. She is a three-time Olympic gold medalist and WNBA All-Star. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
