Spierer’s parents file appeal after judge drops lawsuit

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The parents of a missing Indiana University student have filed an appeal three days after a judge dropped a lawsuit against two men who were seen with the 20-year-old the night she disappeared.

Robert and Mary Spierer were suing Corey Rossman and Jason Rosenbaum, who were with Spierer the night she disappeared in June 2011 after a night of partying at a bar. According to court documents filed on Tuesday, the civil negligence lawsuit against the two men was dropped.

The student’s parents argued the men failed to see her back to her apartment safely. The court concluded the Spierers had not produced enough evidence to support their claim against Rossman and Rosenbaum.

According to court documents, on Friday the Spierers filed an appeal to the Seventh Circuit.
