BROWN COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – An unidentified woman’s body was found in an animal pen Thursday night on Oak Ridge Road in Brown County, according to officials.

24-Hour News 8’s partners, The Brown County Democrat, said the Brown County Coroner said the best means of positively identifying her is probably DNA.

The coroner said he doesn’t believe an animal was involved in the woman’s death.

A neighbor apparently found the woman’s body and called 911.

The coroner said the woman had “been down for a little while before she was found” — possibly a week or more.

The Brown County Democrat reports that only domestic animals were in the pen and Animal Control took a Great Pyrenees from the scene.
