Car strikes bicyclist in Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. (WISH) – The Madison County sheriff’s department is investigating after a driver struck a bicyclist in Anderson.

The crash happened on County Road 100 West near the I-69 overpass.

Madison County Sheriff Ron Richardson said the car’s driver didn’t see the victim, 27-year-old Ryan Richardson. The driver reported hearing a noise and then called for help. Police said the driver is cooperating with the investigation.

It was not immediately clear what Richardson’s condition was. The sheriff said he was airlifted to St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital after being initially transported to St Vincent Anderson Hospital. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
