Tamika Catchings shares career intentions and community outreach efforts

Indiana Fever star Tamika Catchings will retire following the 2016 WNBA season.  The three-time Olympic gold medalist and perennial WNBA All-Star tells Indy Style co-host Andi Hauser that she plans to begins working toward her MBA in January.  She plans to become a General Manger of a WNBA or NBA team.

Drafted in 2001 by the Fever, Catchings was the 2002 WNBA Rookie of the Year and after 14 active seasons, she is the league’s all-time leader in steals and free throws. She will enter the 2015 season as the WNBA’s third-leading scorer and fourth-leading rebounder. The league MVP in 2011, she was the WNBA Finals MVP in 2012. She has been named the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year an unprecedented five times, and has twice been the recipient of the league’s Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award.

Catchings’ career has been synonymous with Indiana Fever success on the court. The Fever owns a share of a WNBA-record 10 consecutive playoff appearances, and has advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals in seven of those 10 seasons.

If that’s not enough she is highly active in the community offeingr many opportunities for kids and even parents to reach their potential.
