COLUMBUS Ind. (WISH) – Two people were arrested after a half hour standoff with Columbus police on Saturday.
A 16-year-old and 19-year-old Brennen Daugherty were held up in house in the 400 block of Cleveland Street around 4:30 p.m. with a gun.
24-Hour News 8’s news partners at The Republic report that a witness told police that they saw several people next door yelling at them because of a barking dog.
The witness saw a juvenile walk to their car and retrieve a silver hand gun.
The witness also told police they believe the juvenile loaded the gun then they pointed it toward the front porch of the home.
Police say Daugherty then took the gun from the 16-year-old and pointed it at the witnesses.
Police arrived at the home and after 30 minutes the pair surrendered and taken into custody.
After police searched the home they located a silver pellet gun inside a dryer.
Daugherty was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was booked on a $15,000 bond.
