WESTFIELD, Ind. (WISH) — First it was sports fields, then a place for indoor sports. Now Westfield’s Grand Park is growing again.
Wednesday morning, officials there announced they were getting their first hotel. It will be a Cambria Suites with 150 rooms.
The hotel will be situated right next to the shops and restaurants and right across the street from all the athletic fields.
“A lot of people come to me and say, ‘This is wonderful but we need a place to stay,’” Westfield Mayor Andy Cook said. “It’s going to happen ladies and gentleman. I can guarantee you that. It’s going to happen and here it is today and we haven’t even been open a year. So we’re very happy with the private sector response.”
The 400-acre sports park has 26 baseball and softball diamonds and 31 fields for soccer, football, rugby, field hockey and lacrosse.
